Ripley-First Presbyterian Church located in Ripley, Ohio celebrated its 200th anniversary (1817-2017). The famed abolotionist, Rev. John Rankin ministered the church from 1822-1845. The Sycamore tree that stands tall in front of the church was planted by a charter member of the First Presybeterian Church, W.B. Campbell. The tree has witnessed many slaves escape to safety to the John Rankin House that sits high on the hill just to the north.
