This Virtue Vio Ascend has been the piece of equipment that I’ve held on to the longest. I purchased them around the time they were released. It’s a well priced mask with great features such as, a quick release lens and foam. I know I’m in the minority here, but I rather dislike soft ears. To me, they don’t offer much in terms of protection and comfort, they just tend to be another piece of gear that wares out. Because of that I always gravitated more towards the Vforce line of masks. I will say, that I personally found the profiler to feel more comfortable, and cover a bit more, but it was too bulky for my taste. The grills look freaking sweet, but the shape of the lens actually did bother me in play, and I hated the dip in the forehead. These have been the most rounded mask that I’ve used in terms of comfort, protection, breathability and value. Masks are an incredibly personal thing however, something as simple as the bridge of your nose can completely change the way a mask sits on your face! Masks tend to sit a little lower on my face, I think that’s why I really noticed the curvature of the lens in the grill line. Long story short, these are a great mask, at the very least you should try them on at a local shop!
