A note from our President on our Romaine and eggs..."Dear Subscribers and Friends,
As some of you may have already heard, there have been outbreaks of foodborne illness (such as E. coli and salmonella) from romaine and eggs sold in grocery stores.
We want to take this opportunity to let you know that all of the products we grow and distribute are safe for you to continue eating and that they are in no way connected to the current outbreak.
We also would like to remind you that the wonderful products we deliver to you each week are grown locally in our state-of-the-art hydroponic greenhouses and are therefore free from the sort of risky growing and distribution practices that have led to the current E. coli contamination in grocery store lettuce.
In addition, our pasture-raised eggs come from happy, healthy chickens interacting with nature they way they were meant to be. They are not kept in the unsanitary conditions that lead to salmonella contamination.
We hope that you continue to enjoy everything that The Neighborhood Harvest bring your family, with the added confidence that what we deliver is always going to be safe and nutritious.
Thank you for your continued support of local agriculture."
