DAY 45 • Yay for baby cheeks and disheveled ponytail. 😁 I literally did only 15 minutes of practice today and recorded the whole thing. Still resting my sore arm. This part in the 2nd movement of Mendelssohn’s violin concerto is so beautiful and I don’t do it justice yet 😅 but I thought I’d give it a try and see how far fifteen little minutes would get me. I’d say it’s a good start. ☺️
Today has just been one of those days where your body and brain demand time to themselves. So I took an amazing 6km walk in the fading autumn hues and just let my lungs devour the crisp, earthy air. It’s so important as musicians to take walks as most of the time, even though our job is physically demanding, we’re just sitting or standing in one place for most of the day. I’m trying to get better at becoming more consistent with walking and making the walks a little longer than just around the block. Walking clears the head and is overall good for the soul. Plus, it doesn’t have to be completely unproductive; mental practice/listening to solo rep, anyone? 😉
Day 24 of : Father in Heaven, the Sabbath hours encroach as the sun sets. I have a cup of warm tea. I have twinkling lights on in my room. I can hear the clock ticking. Everything is calming down and preparing to heal and recharge on the seventh day—the day You sanctified. I ask that You would remove anything that is standing between me and Your throne. Throw it into the sea and help me not to dive after it. Wrap me in Your arms and let me feast at the table of Your promises. Thank You for being such a faithful, loving, patient Father. Guide us all into the truth as it is in Jesus. In Jesus’ precious Name, Amen. 💗
