Sometimes you find something beautiful out of season. 1950s/1960s wool full zip shawl collar cowichan-style sweater with bold, vivid coloring that sort of reminds me of the pattern on a butterfly wing. EUC. Fits size M. Coming soon to the Etsy shop.

Just been trying on this beautiful 1930s jumper made by the very talented @sallybeevintageknittingsewing based on an original 1930s jumper pattern. It’s got to be wrapped ready for my birthday so I won’t see it again for a while but I can’t wait to wear it! Purple and orange are two of my favourite colours. (Ignore the wet hair, I took a shower to cool down.)
I have never been a fan of cardigans, associating them with Great Uncle Toby in his potting shed, halfway through a tale of the South China Seas, his sleeve rolled up to reveal a faded tattoo of a mermaid doing something questionable with an octopus. I have opted for a more patrician look here. #vintageknitwear
Today we’re celebrating that we have 20k in our @shetlandwoolweek instagram community ☺️Thank you for all your encouragement! We love sharing our images with you ❤️ Here’s a great vintage Fair Isle jumper that was on display at the Whalsay Heritage Centre during SWW 2016.
