Some products I have that I don’t reach for anymore, that just sit in the back of my cabinets, waiting for me to decide what to do with them.
❣️ @aquaphorus Aquaphor ointment - a great occlusive, but I find it really sticky. Probably because of the lanolin. I prefer regular Vaseline or my @cerave healing ointment of course as it is thick and a bit slimy, but still not sticky.
❣️ Vicco Tumeric cream - something I picked up on a whim at an Indian grocery store out of curiosity. I’m not sure what it’s meant to do, but all it does to my skin is make it feel squeaky, matte, and dry. The heavy scent of sandalwood made my boyfriend say I “smell like all the aunties back home,” so it’s a pass for me.
❣️ @neutrogena Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Daily Leave On Mask - a very strong 2.5% benzoyl peroxide gel that does dry out zits, but also seriously dried out the surrounding skin. I prefer to treat acne more gently than this nowadays without destroying unaffected areas, but I keep this around just in case. The “just in case” scenario hasn’t happened yet, but it’s something I have trouble letting go of even though I hardly use it 🤷🏻♀️
❣️ @lushcosmetics Vanilla Puff body powder - I was using this as a sort of dry shampoo for a while because I couldn’t be bothered to buy an actual can, but it is no real replacement. The only thing this and a dry shampoo has in common is the white cast in your hair. This powder doesn’t absorb oil well and consequently has been shunned to the top of the cabinet with my boyfriend’s products.
I really hate to throw away products that are not empty; it feels like such a waste. So many just sit around while I find another use for them, until I realize they have no other use, and then eventually get the boot. What are some products you don’t reach for anymore?
