Collecting some rep max data on compound lifts to measure and program for strength. Strength is crucial for robustness, tissue strength (ligaments, tendons, and bones... Not only muscles), and ability to absorb and produce force.—————————————————————
Although strength testing is important, we must remember that these guys are footballers. Football is their sport, not lifting weights, or running intervals. These are supplementary training methods used to improve physical capacities, and therefore sports performance. S&C should compliment footballing performance, and never take away from it.
