Finally had the courage to get a mold of my face so I can cast it bronze. Thanks to @twistedhickey for getting the mold, @kev123sd for holding my hand 😉, and VetArt.org for giving me the opportunity to make some art!
Bronze Project Update: we ended up breaking our first wax sculpture into pieces and remelting it into the crock pot (thus the sad looks from these two in pic 1). Just as well, we had it way to thick! So we regrouped and brushed the hot wax back into our rubber mold. . Aaaaaand good news! Our new wax sculpture is off to the foundry, cut into four pieces (later to be welded), sprued up, and ready for the investment! Thx Steve and @vetart_#thebronzeteamsda#bronzesculpture#groupproject#vetartorg
Alright! School's in the groove and our bronze project is back in swing. Steve Dilley of VetArt.org came by and helped us crack up open the mold that has been sitting dormant all summer. The outer white shell is plaster and fiber for support, and the pink is the rubber mold. Moving forward! (Be sure check out his website in my bio.) #thebronzeteamsda#vetartorg
Doing my best to honor you today, with my art. I hope you are resting in peace, or being honored in Valhalla. To any of my brothers or sisters who are struggling with today, I am here. No fuckin 22 today.
What a wonderful experience. Hopefully the first of many.
Ok Dallas, Famous Monsters Convention, & internetland, it's about to go down.
