Deep in the refuge of the Malibu canyons is Newton Canyon Falls. A calm and tranquil falls 20 feet high flows into a still pool of water. The falls less than a mile from the Backbone Trail trailhead off Kanan Dume Rd., can be heard flowing during the spring season, but dries up during the summer. Who has been here? And what can you recommend for new hikers?
Tips from comments: @noraloveshiking "wear long pants and long sleeves, lots of Poison Oak". Stay away from clusters of leaves of three. If it's a requested enough, we can make a guide on how to properly spot and recognize poison oak.
