Faberge produced 50 imperial eggs. Only 43 survived. The first egg was commissioned in 1885 by Alexander III and last egg was delivered to Tsar Nicolas II in 1916. After the 1918 revolution all eggs were scattered. Viktor #Vekselberg bought 9 eggs which were part of Forbes Collection in America for $100m in 2004 and in 2013 opened the Faberge Museum in Saint Petersburg. This is one of the most expensive displayed at the Museum. .

Today it was a meeting with #Vekselberg - Russian richest man. He talked about his childhood, 90s and Skolkovo...from philosophic point of view. #issek_students

Amazing Faberge Museum in Shuvalov Palace. A collection of fine arts, silver items, porcelain, paintings and of course the gem of the collection - 9 Imperial Easter Eggs created by Faberge for the last 2 Russian Tsars. An interesting fact is that it's a privately-owned museum, established by Victor Vekselberg and this unique collection of Imperial Easter eggs by Faberge was purchased by Victor in 2004, the collection had been owned by Malcolm Forbes and he was collecting it for 30-40 years.
