When I was a kid I used to love watching movies about adventure and exploration and pretty much any nature program that was on TV. Getting to see places like this in real life is what travel is all about. Call me Mowgli.

hello 👋 🖤 Jus’ me and my mushie hot choc which I’m obsessed with ☕️🍄 I also wanted to share some of the big (& lil) lessons I have learnt in september 〰️ .
1. It’s okay to change your mind. you don’t have to be or think the same way as a year, a week, a day, or even an hour ago. you don’t have to be the same person you were before, you don’t have to be the person people think you are or want you to be. jus’ be yooou. you are meant to change, that is how we grow🌱. that is how we learn, that is how we evolve into our best selves. 🐛🦋
2. you are a being with many flaws, and so is everyone else - this means you will make mistakes. and that is okay. that is how we learn.
3. you are allowed to have boundaries, you are allowed to say no to whatever makes you feel uncomfortable. you do what you need to do to be happy. #youdoyou
4. the best things come from being kind. be kind to everyone, even when they project their hurt onto you - in fact, your kindness is most needed here. I promise you’ll see the power of it. 🌸🌻🌺💐
5. you are allowed to feel pretty from painting your nails, or doing your hair, or putting on make up - this is also self love - ( but don’t forget you are also pretty without these things - freckle faced, tummy rolls, messy hair n all) 💋
.6. keep life simple. stop over complicating things.
7. be proud of who you are. 🤗

🌱💪🏼 As a medical doctor Garth Davis sees first hand the devastating effects meat and dairy have on our health and advocates a whole food plant-based diet. But a plant-based diet isn't only the best diet for our health.

We know a plant based diet is the only diet ever proven to prevent and reverse heart disease [Ornish/Esselstyn], the number one killer in the Western World, causing an average of one death every 40 seconds in the US alone [American Heart Association data], as well as vastly reducing our risk for diabetes, hypertension and cancer.

But it's also the best diet for the environment - Studies indicate that a varied vegan diet requires about a third of the land needed for conventional Western diets [UN FAO]. And a recent UN report stated "A global shift towards a vegan diet is vital to save the world from hunger, fuel poverty and the worst impacts of climate change."

"As the global population surges towards a predicted 9.1 billion people by 2050, western tastes for diets rich in meat and dairy products are unsustainable." said the report from the United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) international panel of sustainable resource management.
_
Emissions from the production of beef and lamb are 250 times higher than those from legumes, per gram of protein, and pork and poultry are 40 times higher than legumes. A large amount of methane and nitrous oxide, gases that are more than 20 times and 250 times more powerful than carbon dioxide as a greenhouse gas, are generated through livestock-raising activities. [UN FAO]

And it's a lifestyle that seeks to minimise the impact on the fellow Earthlings we share the planet with as much as is possible and practicable - i.e. avoiding eating them.

If we could be lead healthier lives without causing unnecessary suffering to other animals, then why wouldn't we? It's pretty simple - and more and more people are catching on - veganism is rapidly growing around the world.

——Ingredients——
320 g conchiglie pasta
2 cups frozen peas
250 g asparagus sliced into 1” pieces
1 ripe avocado peeled and deseeded
2 garlic cloves
juice from half a lemon
2 tbsp tahini
2 tbsp olive oil
120 ml dairy-free milk
small handful of pine nuts
small handful of basil leaves
——Method——
1. Cook the pasta as per packet instructions. In the last 3 minutes add the asparagus and peas, and simmer until the asparagus starts to go a little soft.
2. Meanwhile, make the creamy sauce by blending the avocado, garlic cloves, lemon juice, tahini, olive oil and dairy-free milk until smooth.
3. Remove pasta from the hob and drain.
4. Pour the creamy avocado sauce onto the pasta and stir to combine. Then season with salt and pepper to taste, and stir again to combine.
5. Serve the creamy avocado pasta with a sprinkling of pine nuts and chopped basil. ""
