Yesterday, we spent the better part of the morning in the kitchen trading off roles as chef/sous-chef (or as Niko calls it, “sushi chef”) while we prepared food for Thanksgiving at my parents’ house ☺️ We contributed sweet potato casserole, mac n cheese, and homemade biscuits (recipe upcoming) — all veganized, obvs. 👩🏽🍳
I’ve become much more conflicted about this holiday as I’ve learned more about the reality vs. the story we were all told as children. Still, I choose to celebrate happily a day of eating with family and try to remain grateful as ever for what good there is in all our lives. And there is a lot.
