Livestock and their byproducts account for at least 32,000 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year, or 51% of all worldwide greenhouse gas emissions.
Agriculture is responsible for 80-90% of US water consumption. Throughout the world, humans drink 5.2 billion gallons of water and eat 21 billion pounds of food each day. Worldwide, cows drink 45 billion gallons of water and eat 135 billion pounds of food each day. Hence the cows consume 6-9 times more than humans. Also, did you know that 2,500 gallons of water are needed to produce 1 pound of beef. 
Animal agriculture is responsible for up to 91% of Amazon destruction and 1-2 acres of rainforest are cleared every second. The leading causes of rainforest destruction are livestock and feedcrops. Animal agriculture is also the leading cause of species extinction, ocean dead zones, water pollution, and habitat destruction. Livestock operations on land have created more than 500 nitrogen flooded deadzones around the world in our oceans. For you to understand how inefficient animal agriculture is 1.5 acres can produce 37,000 pounds of plant-based food, 1.5 acres can produce 375 pounds of beef....
70 billion farmed animals are reared annually worldwide. No wonder we need to kill the rainforest grow crops fertilize and destroy our soil and oceans. More than 6 million animals are killed for food every hour.
A person who follows a vegan diet produces the equivalent of 50% less carbon dioxide, uses 1/11th oil, 1/13th water, and 1/18th land compared to a meat-lover for their food.

Vegan Lunch; Wednesday. Leek and potato soup has always been one of my favourites. Adding kale makes it even better for you and adding nutritional yeast deepens the flavour and gives you a good helping of elusive B12 🌱.
🥄Start; add a glug of olive oil to a deep pan. Add 2 chopped leeks and cook until soft. Add 3 peeled chopped potatoes.
🥄Middle; cover with water, adding a stock cube and simmer until the potato is soft.
🥄Finish; add kale and simmer for 5 mins. If you like, add a good helping of nutritional yeast and or silken tofu. Blend.

🚨 NINE MONTHS CLEAN TODAY 🚨Cannot believe 9 months ago today I woke up and decided to change my life. I was at the point where I didn’t want to live anymore, I was constantly miserable, had a massive drink and drug problem, there just seemed no point in carrying on. I went to bed every night (well, morning) hoping I wouldn’t wake up. •

I realised there must be a way of making life exciting again, worth carrying on for. I went cold turkey on everything and completely changed my approach and view on all the bad things in life. •

Life changed more that I ever thought it would. While my health significantly improved with the changes I made, I discovered the man I loved (loved, not love anymore) was having affairs behind my back again, after forgiving him doing this to me previously. •

Now I just think ‘what a fucking lucky escape I’ve had, and what a great life I have’. I’m extremely grateful for it every day of my life ❤️

Vegan Breakfast; Wednesday. Marmite or peanut butter on toast. Love it or hate it, Marmite is a vegan superfood. Here’s a list of the benefits;
