Today’s workout was a basic one. 1hr of easier run. My aerobic heart beat level is 160 bpm and the average HB during this workout was 155 bpm. Slowly but surely🤩 Right after taking this photo it started raining (should’ve guessed - see the clouds?!) but it was actually really refreshing.

3ish miles at "who knows" pace. • For four years pace was the only thing that mattered. How fast I ran defined how I felt about the run. But now, a month into "retirement", I still feel like I need to keep up. But with what? There's no coach telling me to go faster, no teammates to keep up with and no looming championship race. But there's still that tiny voice in head telling me that if my splits aren't fast enough I'm somehow unworthy. So today I left my watch behind and let my body control the run, not a little machine on my wrist. It was a good reminder that no matter how fast or slow I run, I CAN run. And that's what really matters. • • • • • • #run#sheruns#runner#therapyrun#retiredathlete#garminforerunner#newbalance#vazeepace#wellness#mentalwellness#workinprogress#lovetherun
