Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Guillermo Rigondeaux – Initial Thoughts on the Super Fight
Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Guillermo Rigondeaux – Initial Thoughts on the Super Fight. This fight is looking like it will live up to the hype. Both guys are in heavy preparation and from their social media accounts look to be in great shape.
Obviously, Rigondeaux is the much smaller and older (37 years old) fighter. Jumping up in weight will defiantly be a large hurdle to overcome. However, no one can question Rigo’s skill set. Although, Rigo is the underdog, many see him as finding a way to pull off the victory.
The major knock on Rigo is that he is a very boring fighter. He is a counter puncher who is very patient and will wait for the perfect opportunity to attack. If it takes the entire round of Guillermo staying just outside his opponents range until that opportunity comes – that is fine with Rigo. Being fan friendly never seems to be a consideration Guillermo takes into account.
Lomachenko, 29 on the other hand is pure energy, excitement, and calculated aggression. Vasyl has highly refined offense and defense, which almost always makes for an exciting fight. Hopefully, Loma’s full pressure will bring out the best in Rigo.
What is very interesting about this fight is that both Vasyl and Guillermo are two time olympic gold medalists. They also are both right handed but fight out of a southpaw stance. There are countless reason why this fight should be a fan friendly exciting fight, regardless or Rigonduaux’s reputation of being boring.
Let’s hope for the best. December 9, 2017 is almost here. #Vasyl Lomachenko #Guillermo Rigondeaux #boxing #superfight #hitech #thematrix
