At first it was a bit too spicy for me and I didn’t like it. I let it sit in the glass for a while and then all the flavours opened up wonderfully. I tried it with some braai meat and then again with some chocolate fudge. 😋
This is definitely a good food wine! It is also from a single vineyard of which the vines are 20 years old. It was matured for 14 months in 10% American and 90% French Oak barrels of which 30% is new oak. You can just see by the colour how full bodied it is. It had all the spice and perfume you need from a good Shiraz. .
Definitely decant this before drinking, or better still, wait another 3-5 years before opening.👌 read more about this range of wines on my blog. Link in bio.
