We sat down with new Tribe Leader JJ, and asked him a little bit about his journey to yoga. (Q) So JJ! Yoga?

I was introduced to yoga through @helloedwilson whilst I was out working in Cape Town. I think it was a year to around this date that I did my first yoga class! Ed was encouraging me to come a long for a good few weeks, I was pretty reluctant to join. I was a skier dude, I thought yoga was for my mum! Couldn't believe how hard it was, I think I spent half my first 3 classes in child's pose. The rest was history and I was in. (Q) So what made you change your mind and go from yogi to yogi teacher?

I have found such benefits from yoga within my body. Physical as well as mental. I had lower back issues due to a hectic ski fall early on this year, yoga cleared it up when I started practicing more regularly in May. Yoga has allowed my body to really open up. From so much skiing and other sports, my body was always feeling tight which a lot of the time hindered performance. Yoga has really saved me in that sense. Finally being able to touch my toes (just about) is also a great benefit.
After 6 months of frequent practice and my teacher training, I am starting to see and feel mental benefits too. Feeling much more calm and grounded and those anxious days are fewer and further between. (Q) Plans for the future?
I have never been very good at predicting my future. Presently, I am thoroughly enjoying what I am doing. Maybe there will be opportunities to open a studio in my home town Glasgow, if it's with tribe all the better! Maybe even opening a studio in a ski resort, I am still to talk to Tribe about that one 🌚. If only there were big snowy mountains right beside Edinburgh.
I need to give a big thank you to @tribeyoga for the opportunities they have given me so far. All the other teachers for helping me out with these new experiences. And of course big @tribeacademyyoga for training me. A special thank you to @helloedwilson as I would not be here if he hadn't dragged me to that first yoga class. And lastly thank you to @jamesrwizzle and @christelyoga for giving me this opportunity.

Les empañadas de légumes sont mes meilleurs alliés culinaires ici au Pérou pour combler mon alimentation végétarienne !
Vous pouvez en faire très facilement chez vous, et je suis sure que vous les apprécierez quand ils sortiront chauds et croustillants du four...

Recette des empañadas aux champignons :
- 1 pâte brisée - ‎des champignons
- ‎des olives dénoyautées
- ‎1 oignon
- ‎coriandre ciselée
- ‎1 cas d'huile d'olive
- ‎1 tomades
.
Préparation :
- faites une petite poêlée de champignons en les faisant revenir avec l'huile d'olive et les oignons.
- étalez la pâte brisée et faites des petits disques
- ‎mettez une quantité de la poêlée de champignons, quelques olives, et la coriandre au centre d'un disque.
- humidifiez légèrement les bords du disque, pliez-le en 2, et écrasez délicatement avec une fourchette le bord de l'empanada pour la fermer.
- ‎Placez vos empañadas sur une plaque huilée et enfournez 10 min environ.
- pendant ce temps, vous pouvez préparer le condiment (qu'on appelle ici le "rocoto") pour la touche de fraîcheur : couper une tomate, un oignon et un piment en minis cubes. Ajoutez huile d'olive, sel, poivre. - ‎surveillez de près les empanadas au four, sortez-les une fois qu'ils ont roussi sur le dessus.
- ‎Dégustez !!!
PS : préparez-vous quelques uns pour le dessert au passage... choco-banane-coco par exemple 🙈
