Good day, pen friends.
Today, I bring you pens that are not my own, but belong to @ToLoveLu: an Arnold combo pen, a burgundy Sheaffer Touchdown Tuckaway Statesman, a marine green Sheaffer Balance Petite ringtop, and a very special Sheaffer Triumph Crest. We'll be looking at all four in separate posts, due to the Instagram description character limit.
Lastly, we have our special Sheaffer Triumph Crest. This is an early Crest model, with the white dot located at the tip of the vacuum-fil knob, or blind cap, instead of the 1/10 14k gold filled cap, as was more common on later models, due to the early difficulties in mounting the white dot on metal caps. There's not much terribly special about this pen until you look at the nib. This is an extraordinarily rare example of a flexible Triumph nib; this pen writes line variation starting in the extra-fine range at 0.3mm, and flexing to a stagging 1.5mm. I'm constantly amazed by Sheaffer nibs, and this one is no exception. Smooth, not too wet when not flexing, and able to flex for quite a bit of writing before it railroads, thanks to the many-finned Triumph feed. Well, if I don't stop now, I'll keep talking about this nib for ages, so let's move on: The barrel transparency is pretty decent, ambered but still plenty clear, and the visulated section is still very clear but slightly stained green, giving an odd contrast to the orangish barrel striations. The vacuum-fil plunger is smooth and strong, the pen writes amazingly, and I am so, so, incredibly, insanely, indescribably envious.
Length capped: 130.2mm
Length uncapped: 111.6mm
Barrel diameter: 12.1mm
