Eight years of rhythm, song, poetry and movement. Eight years of ART!
On 21st July 2010, the UWI Afrikan Society presented it's first ever production, "RHYTHMS...Word, sOund, movE"; A fusion of capoeira, spoken word, drumming and dance .
After the resounding success of Rhythms, an Annual Production became a staple event of the UWIAS, with SIX productions to follow; Harambee (2011), Soek Binne (2012), Onseker (2013), Akoma (2014), Uhuru (2015) and Sanaa (2016). For our 8th year on stage, the UWIAS presents, NURA, a journey of self discovery and black identity.
For the 8th time, the UWIAS is pleased to invite you to witness another great work of art presented through dance, drumming, poetry, song and theatre.
If you've ever been to one of our shows then you know that it's definitely not to be missed and you only get two chances to see it. Tickets will be out soon and cost only $100.
