I did a thing 👏👏. Actually, to be more accurate, I failed about 50x at said thing before I got it. Figuring out how to keep dribbling the tennis ball 🎾 while standing up required a lot more coordination than the seated drill. I tried going to kneeling first but couldn't maintain the rhythm all the way to standing and eventually settled on a cossack to transition up. Next to get it with my bad hand. Thanks so much to the awesome folks at @onnitacademy for the hospitality 🙌. #pfx17 was a massive success and I'm happy to be headed home! #portlandbound

Well this empty was a little unsatisfactory. I still had about 1/4 of a bottle of the @victoriassecret body wash left. I opened the shower door last night and the bottle was laying on the floor with the bottom of it completely popped off and all the soap had gone down the drain. It must have fallen of the shelf in just such a way that the bottle broke. Maybe if I wouldn't have hoarded this product for so long, this wouldn't have happened. Oh well. On to the @olay sample I received from @pinchme. I already used it once. It isn't a sudsy soap - more of a creamy soap. It smells amazing!!! Health and fitness is a long-term process and patience is key. I recently had a client in their late-30s tell me that they didn't feel much change happening. We had done 8 training sessions and this was their first time strength training in their entire life. They started talking about a 30-day diet, outdoor bootcamps and how they wanted to shock the body. I explained to them that fitness is a long journey and that strength training, proper nutrition and some cardio on the side will do the body/mind wonders 👌.

It's just crazy how people have unrealistic expectations of making insane amounts of progress in a month or two ✌️ after years of inactivity. Nothing substantial happens in a month. It's a very long journey. The longer you let your body go, the longer it's going to take to get to where you want to be 😥.

I wrote out a long rant but ain't nobody wanna read that shit. I'm just going to say - I've been at this almost 10 years and people always think it came easy to me and that I don't understand their struggle. It didn't come easy to me and I do understand the struggle. BUT what I have learned is this - I know that it's up to me to make progress. It's up to me to mobilize and give my body love. It's up to me to cook and eat properly. It's up to me to attack the weights every session. It's up to me to get enough sleep so I can do it all over again tomorrow. People can help us with the process but no one is going to follow you for the whole day to make sure you're doing everything right (unless you pay them a lot).

Ultimately, it's a single player game. Coaches can help but we're not magicians. We can guide you but you have to put in the daily work. Every day. Every week. Every year. For the rest of your life. If that's too much work for you, so be it. Just don't complain saying that it's too hard, that it takes too long, that you work too much or that you don't have time. That's a cop out and everyone knows it. But if you are patient, take on the challenge and keep your eyes on the prize - it'll be worth it. I know it will.

I had to catch the train to work last week instead of driving and I'm thankful I am fitter now to be able to use them with ease.

I use stairs wherever I can. But I'm always surprised to see that most people take an escalator or a lift--the easy way out. 🤷‍♀️ As you can see there's a much larger crowd on the escalator. And it's not faster than the stairs!

Take every opportunity to use your body, folks! Our bodies thrive on being used--it's what they've evolved for over millenia. It's only been the last 150 years or so that man has become reliant on machinery and technology to do a lot of the physical work for him. Stats show increasingly we are not only eating the same as if we were working hard, but eating more! So this will of course create the obesity epidemic that we have around the world at present.

So just do it folks! Rejoice in what your body can do! We are living biological beings not made to be still! Use your body and all its gifts of movement. Eat less not more to love your body.

Take the stairs, walk faster, run if you will, or if you're using the escalator still walk them! Carry your shopping bags if you can and leave the trolley behind...there's so much you can do in every day living to get more physical activity in! It all accumulates and helps you out in the long run. AND your body and your hip pocket will thank you for it! Even more so as you get older!

Whilst I loved my short break in Melbourne and exercising in a beautiful park every day doing whatever I felt like, this morning I was back into my normal routine at the gym. Had a 1 hour Body Pump class then 1 hr of Zumba. Then an hour of stretching and my own exercises.

Pump was hard. Had to stop a couple of times as I could feel an injury coming. It's important not to feel pressured to keep going when you feel at your limit. I am a little fatigued now and my legs are feeling it the most...all those squats with a bar weight on your back really works your legs and glutes hard-it's the weight on your back that makes all the difference!

It's quite amazing how it's only 12 days since doing my last Pump class and I have lost muscle memory already! It will be harder work gaining back my previous fitness level plus it will need to go on for another couple of weeks. It's not difficult to see how the saying "use it or lose it" rings very true! Oh and "no pain no gain"! And it's the same for everything--your body and your brain! It's the same for your job, your everyday habits, even your relationships... you have to keep the work up on these things to keep them going well.

I do love classes though! They give structure to my routine, even my day, as I'm not real good at this myself.

This morning I had a little anxiety about going back to classes as I know their structure tends to push me harder and coming back to that wasn't going to be easy after 12 days off! But I was still looking forward to the day! And this is exactly as it turned out! I was in a good place at the end of my workouts--content and relaxed, albeit a little worn out! ...

#montagejeunesse Creamy Sorbet Scrub (exclusive for #primark ) This one smelled like passion fruit, lovely yummy scent! The walnut shell parts exfoliated my skin well but they weren't too harsh (but they definitely exfoliate). I usually prefer fruit acids to exfoliate but once in a while I enjoy a good old scrub 😁 Btw, the brand is now called #7thheaven ( @ilove7thheaven )
