Congratulations Marietta Imadojiemu MBBS (Benin).
Her Bride Price just increased😀😀...
Your smile alone is enough to bring healings to your patients.
Marietta Imadojiemu and I were the two participants from UNIBEN medical School that attended the 5 weeks #YALiWestAfrica Training last year. It was a journey where we had to face many hurdles in securing permission from school to be absent for 5 weeks in order to participate in the training. Whenever I remember the roadblocks we had to face from our colleagues especially those who tagged us as unserious for wanting to develop our leadership potentials and became better doctors , I smile.
Today, those colleagues approach me daily to help review their application and inform them of the latest conference and to the Glory of God, two of my friends ( Medical Students) will be traveling to Ghana for the training beginning from July 31st.

Guess what she became the First female President of the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students Association (FECAMDS) UNIBEN Chapter. She is well grounded.

Be ready to blaze the trail. Marrieta, I am happy we blazed it. We set the records for medical students. We showed medical students that they can be versatile, apply for conferences and build their professional resumes.
Even at YALi, she was like a sister to me. If it were possible, she would have given me her clothes to wear knowing my luggage never arrived as a result of Arik Air inefficiency.

After , I had done Jollof rice mapping, Morbid Anatomy and Forensic Medicine Department decided to lock me up in a Test hall today making me miss out of today's fun. 500 Questions in 90 minutes. I almost died. I was just eating Pringles in the Test hall when the questions were becoming difficult😀😀... I will miss you. I have no doubts you will do well.

I wish you the very best. Go and do exploit.

When I applied to the Healthcare Leadership Summer School in the United States of America, my closing remark in my Motivation letter was ' I look forward to publishing report of the training on The Nation Newspaper ( Nigeria's Most Widely Circulated Newspaper) in a bit to increasing awareness about the programme and informing Nigerians who are unable to attend the discussions that transpired.

Yesterday, the reports was published on the pages of the newspaper and I got nice feedbacks from people.

One thing I love about the publication was the byline where my Editor wrote Eddy Uwoghiren ( 500 Level , Medicine & Surgery, University of Benin ) was there'. Some persons who read the publication sent me messages on social media asking, so you mean you travelled to the US for the programme? And my reply was Yes, I was there.

It reminded me of 2013 when I wanted to venture into Campus Journalism and all I got from People including bloggers on campus was NO ( You are a medical student and you will make a bad Journalist) , only one person gave me the Chance to try. Till date, I still Wonder what Gilbert Alasa saw in me that made him entrust the duty of reporting events on UNIBEN Campus.

As you pursue your dreams , people will tel you NO. It doesn't mean they hate you. It just mean you can't accomplish your dreams with them. When you get a NO from them, do not relent , go back to the drawing board and strategize.

I once told a friend in 2013 when I started writing, ' One day this Journalism will take me out of Nigeria before I finish Medical school and I will report on an International conference. His reply was ' Eddy, you dream too big for my liking.' When the report was published, I sent him the link and he replied ' So you kept to this dream. Now I can say you are a Goal getter.

I am not there yet yet, but this is a step towards actualizing the vision of delivering #InvestigativeMedicalJournaliam to every #Nigerian #Everywhere.
It has started. I will report on more International conferences.
The future is in our hands. Let's possess it.

The results are ultimately the same... The result of persistence, hardwork, and prayers... You are placed on a pedestal far above mediocrity.
