If you want to see something a bit more local in Florence, you should leave the centre and pay a visit to the neighbourhood Le Cure. Le Cure is special. Beautiful, charming, a bit old fashioned and very local
As we were walking to a friends hone for lunch, google told us to take the underpass and I’m so happy we did. I’ve been dying to find this incredible underpass and of course in doing so, made us 20 minutes late got lunch ... my friend was not happy.
Totò is an elder man who takes care of the "sottopassaggio", the underpass in Le Cure. Totò, plays music, washes the pavement, speak to people and sometimes send you a lovely smile. They call him l'Angelo delle Cure (The Angel of Le Cure). From a recent interview he did with "Te la do io Firenze" I know that he is Sicilian, and that he has taken take of the underpass for…. TWENTY YEARS! Can you believe that? And without receiving anything in exchange. What a beautiful gift to the city Totò is.
Of course I managed to be in awe once again of my favourite @exit.enter.k @ig_firenze_ @travelsitaly #ig_italia #ig_italy #igers #street #streetart #lecure #artists #secret #underpass #beautiful #florence #firenze
