As I start the leaning process for CBBF Nationals, I'd like to share some insight into the leaning out process:
The reduction of body fat levels in women to what you see on stage, YouTube, social media, etc. etc. is unnatural and UNHEALTHY. The bare minimum amount of essential body fat for women is 10-13% which is reflected in my post and I hover around the rest of the year. In this pic I'm at LEAST 10 pounds heavier than I am on stage 🙀
Yes, we look sick af leaned out, but we're starving, brain dumb, going without menstrual cycles, irritable, suffer from mood swings, putting extra work on our hearts and not loving our internal organs and cold, cold, cold! .
Just imagine what we would look like without the muscle, you see anorexic people all the time and the last thought that crosses your mind is they look sick af!
Many people suffer from body dysmorphia, unable to see their bodies for what they are, it's not uncommon for competitors to forever see themselves as "fat" "overweight" "imperfect" after competing and it doesn't help with this misperception that the body can look like this every day, year round. You see fit people all the time and "wish I could look like that" no you don't, they also for the most part don't, a lot of fit people you see take several photos and videos at once and disperse them throughout the year, giving the misconception that you can attain and maintain this - no, SMH, no.
So love your body for what it is, make healthy changes for your body and your life, but throw out the idea that you should ever look like the zero fat people you see splashed out in advertising ❤
