Somerset Chp. 3: Dowsing at Stonehenge /Dowsing /ˈdaʊzɪŋ/: a technique for searching...by observing the motion of a pointer...supposedly in response to unseen influences./
But what if what we are searching for are the answers to the questions that haunt us the most...Who am I? Why am I here? What can I achieve? How unlimited am I?...
Seconds before leaving Glastonbury I was drawn to a pendulum that was hanging from a shop. As I got it, the owner tells me that it's made of bluestone; that same stone which is found in Stonehenge; my next destination. It might just be me, but I really love the serendipity of life.
As we arrived, it started to rain. Many were disappointed, but I was even more drawn. I wanted to anchor my moment there with the four elements, the earth, wind, rain, and fire within our soul. The place being as empty as it can ever be made it even more special.
I silently circled around Stonehenge, admiring the 3000 BC site, taken by its mystery. Then it came to me. Maybe there is a reason why Stonehenge refuses to give out any answers. If Stonehenge were to be a person she would be that High Priestess; she who asks you to stop looking outside for your answers, and to start looking inside.
P.S: Stonehenge is in the Wiltshire county but was part of my Somerset adventure, and hence the title.
