Day 1 of @wovemberwool and @yarninthecity Wovember challenge. I love this year's theme of Wool and wellness.... so why I love wool - because without sounding over dramatic it saved me. After getting to the point of a nervous breakdown while pregnant in my previous career - wool picked me up, wrapped me up, and gave my life a new and fulfilling purpose. From the beloved fleece of my brother's Jacobs that I hand carded and spun during my recovery & pregnancy - to the bright and bouncy hand dyed Bluefaced leciester that lifts my soul on down days. I love wool for such personal reasons it transcends what I now do with it. It's why it's the only fibre I work with (apart from the tiny bit of alpaca I've dabbled in). #wellness#ukdyer#wovember2017#wovember
Just a reminder that my Dyed to Order listings are all available on up to four different bases at no extra cost per skein than 'ready to ship'. My current turnaround time is still 1-2 weeks 😘 VikingYarns.etsy.com (link in profile)
So i am putting Day 9 and 10 for the #wovemberinstachallenge togther: Relaxing and Markets - Yesterday, the night before driving down for a Market I was anything but relaxed. So i didn't post. This was my last stall at a yarn festival the brilliant #perthfestivalofyarn back in September - which was a brilliamt event. Seriously if you are debating which Yarn festival to go to next year - I'd recommend sticking Perth on the top of your list! Friendly people, beautiful city, great layout and parking! Check them out @perthfestivalofyarn
Day 8 of #wovemberinstachallenge was Labels. I try and make my labels as clear as I can - I want people to know whats in my yarn (clue: its always 100%British wool 😉) but it has led to some rather off assumptuons. Like the man who asked if the sheep who was shorn was called Masham. Or the woman who asked 'is Wensleydale your surname?' * * * I don't include stitch counts or needles suggestions though - i feel they are very personal figures... and i think you should feel free to use whatever size tool you like!
Spangled Cotinga was the bird featured in October 💙❣ November will be the last instalment at the moment as I'll be doing a pause to reorganise the club. If you'd like to join you can purchase it until the 15th November. If you have any suggestions for the relaunch let me know 😘 #birdclub#yarnclub#lovebugsyarns
