"she was excited, yet, she was terrified"
The other day an incoming 1st year student stopped by for a visit and asked a group of us "Is grad school harder than undergrad?" -two of my classmates assured her that undergrad was much harder than grad school because they had so many commitments and constant stress from classes etc... I agreed at first, then remembered that I've never felt more stressed in my life- and that's because there's no roadmap now, no recipe for success, no standardized tests. It's just you vs the elements of nature. As you can do your best& do everything right and still FAIL. Albeit, I'm much happier and more satisfied now than ever.. because it's f u n to explore the unknown and ditch that roadmap 🗺 •How many of y'all feel like you've ditched a roadmap in your career??
(Also, I wasn't the busiest or most successful undergrad so that plays a role too)
