So quick! The pictures of my performance last Saturday is ready online. I still have to work on the lines and silhouette of my standing leg, and have to get rid of the unnecessary force I have in my wrists and hands; but I was overall happy with the neck, shoulder and head positions which I had focused on. 😉💕
Today, I had Adagio rehearsal of Talisman. My partner uses many metaphors so that I can image the moves and do in the right way; but trying to image and changing your moves requires so much concentration. I regret that I could not keep the concentration long enough today. Rehearsal started 19:30, and we first went through the moves one by one, and my partner would give me image advice. We did once with music and teacher M was happy that the moves were becoming smooth and seamless, and told me I now need to focus on the lines when he is not lifting me. Like when I land, and when I run away, and when I elevate my legs, etc. we focused on those parts and did repetitive practice of those moves and other parts like turns which is difficult. After the 2nd time with music, and time already around 21:45, my teacher M wanted to focus on one area; the turns and pose which I was struggling. She wanted me not just to do the moves but me to create the lines which I want to make, what I want the audience to see. My brain stopped working by that time, and I literally collapsed doing the turns without really thinking. They both said I was over capacity for that day, and told me I should end practice for today. 😞
My teacher also told me (not smiling nor satisfied but in a not so approving way) that it's ok, that it's already looking good because of my partner who is really good at partnering (he was principal dancer abroad😳❤️) and that I can stop here. But she thinks it would be much better for me if I can take one more step and start creating and thinking what I want to present by this Adagio. .
Next week, we will have rehearsal using a large studio, so I hope to take time to think about this, and practice how I can show what I want audience to see👍
