Why do I coach the way I do? Alvin if I sign up for a two hour clinic why do we spend an hour working on flexibility, core, and body positions; 15-30 min on basics and then tumble “forreal” for like 30-45 minutes?? There’s a method to my madness...if you can hit a hollow position on demand: If rebounding out of your bhs SUPER hollow is how you do, then teaching you to tuck, layout, full, etc will be #slightwork If your core is strong, and you’re an explosive being, then that standing tuck will be relatively easy. If your HANDSTAND is great...then, every SINGLE skill you learn will come easier. There’s a reason why everybody can’t tumble like @azarayaskye @springfloordiva or @evanrwbrown73 or @milana_paige or @kiaranowlin_fit or @braedanbloom or @maddiebaran or... and that’s because these athletes have spent hours/days/years working the basics. So, the next time you get bored or even sick of your coach(es) saying ‘do basics, condition, or work on flexibility’ ask yourself, “Am I great at all of the little things?” If the answer is no, then shut up and get to work! I can PROMISE you that greatness lies in the details! [steps off soapbox]
@Cassie.roche is a product of doing small things in a great way. She landed her full for the first time two days ago and she was NEVER spotted on it. Extremely proud of this young lady and we have big plans for her future!
