Ran #sanjose408k today through @representrunning. Quite honestly, one of the most inspirational and fun courses I have run in a while. This 8k starts you off at SAP Center in San Jose (Shark Tank for those hockey fans out there). You are led through the Alameda shopping district, past the Egyptian museum, past the Rose Garden, down Veteran Mile (my heart just about burst) and into Santana Row on the notes of the Mariachi bands that line the Mariachi Mile. I witnessed a flag folding for a recent fallen San Jose Police Officer. I observed the kindness among runners to each other on the course, regardless of their heritage, political views, or stance on hot button items. For an hour, we all loved one another, displayed humanity, were badass in our own right and shared a time in our life that is now a memory.
Special words of thanks to Mr. Bell, WWII Vet, whose memorial I absolutely had to stop and see. As a granddaughter of a 92 year old Navy WWII and Korean War Vet, the Veteran's Mile was, without question, inspirational.
Haven't run a @representrunning event? Add it to your list. Wonderful people, great races, and a good time. Lastly, I did not have to think from the moment I got out of my car till the moment the bus dropped me back at SAP. This point to point event is definitely a run for every runner's list. #distancerunner #tsfm2017ambassador #tsfm2017 #livingthedream #iruncalifornia #iruncali #8k #veterans #thankyouforyourservice🇺🇸 #teamrwb #representrunning #representrunningchallege #sanjosecalifornia
