I often believe the LIE that anxiety is just a part of my life and there’s not much I can do about it.
.
When I focus my mind on truth, I am able to quickly identify lies and combat them.
.
Which is why time spent in God’s Word, in prayer, and listening to truth-filled music are all valuable ways to spend my time.
.
Displaying, using, and sharing #tinytruthcards is helpful, too.
.
Friends who remind me of truth are equally as valuable.
.
Social media? Yeah, if there is a page or feed that is filling my mind with lies or I can’t quit the comparison game or it’s just full of negativity? “Unfollow.” No question. I don’t have time for that and it doesn’t fill my soul.
.
Every time I put TRUTH in my view, I have a weapon to destroy the lies.
.
One of my most favorite weapons when I’m feeling anxious?
.
Isaiah 26:3 “You keep him in PERFECT PEACE, whose mind is stayed on You.”
.
Amen and amen.

Let’s face it- there are many voices calling out to us every day- (and I don’t mean your children’s) voices of doubt, discouragement and comparison. Scripture tells us that “My sheep hear My voice and the voice of the stranger they won’t follow” •
We have to choose to listen to the Good Shepherd’s voice of truth. If it’s not speaking life then it’s not from Him! •

Hay! 😂

How are you? No, really. How are you?? Let's talk self care! But first, I think we need to address this 'art of slow living' movement. 'Slow living!' You've probably heard this phrase or seen it all over social media lately. It's definitely a buzzword these days, and as much as I love this concept, I feel at first glance, it can be VERY confusing, especially to mothers!

If you're a mommy to littles right now, I know your days are extra eventful and I'm right here with ya! We spend so much of our time and energy caring for our precious babes. Diapers, feedings, cleaning, cooking, dishes, laundry, ______ <---- (fill in the blank here). How is anything in motherhood 'slow?' To be efficient, we need to multi-task, right!? You can see how this movement of 'slow living' can be contradictory in motherhood! But, what if we replaced 'slow living' with 'mindful mothering.' Does that clarify things? Mindful mothering, meaning cultivating a wholesome, truth-filled, and valuable experience through motherhood!

A wise woman told me, "motherhood is kingdom work." Our days can often feel mundane (believe me, you're not alone!), but truth is, you're playing a VERY important role in the greater story. Your higher calling!

Let's not forget about YOU though, dear Mama! (This applies to everyone)! YOU need to be cared for too! So, if I may, I'd like to encourage you to start thinking of ideas of self care for yourself if you haven't done this already! Self care for your body, heart, and mind. So much of life is this mental game and we want to see you thrive just as much as we love to see your children thrive!

What are things YOU find relaxing, rejuvenating, fun? Some ideas are: sipping your fav coffee drink or cup of tea, getting a massage, or your hair done. Self care most certainly doesn't have to cost money, either! You could: go for a walk or run or bike or swim or do yoga. Other ideas are: write in a journal, watch t.v. while eating your fav snacks, photograph, or take a nap (YES, this really IS an option)! These are just a few ideas to help you get started on your list, because at the end of the week, I have a special invite for you!

Let me hear your ideas!!

Spend one on one time with the Lord and allow the Holy Spirit to fill you with the truth of who you are.

When I sat down to record this it was the Sunday night the week before it goes live. I realized as I began that it was the final episode under the original name of the podcast - Untame the Wild Soul. So I thought it would be apropos to dedicate the episode to one way of knowing when it’s time to move on from something. Even when the something is really good, excellent even.
👉🏽
And in fact how sometimes because something is excellent is exactly why we have to move on from it. Enjoy and be sure to tune into the next episode to learn the new name of the show! 👉🏽

Our topic today has to do with the last sentence of the intro to these Sunday sermons, about remembering that you are made from love, you are love, and you are loved. I get a lot of notes from people telling me how much they love hearing that every week, that they need the reminder, that the truth of this feels so nourishing, that even when the head wants to object, the heart knows it’s the truth.
👉🏽
So I was thinking about this the other morning at the time of this recording and I had a little epiphany about choosing love over fear. This is something you may have heard before, in some context or another, to choose love over fear. It’s a fairly common cornerstone of lots of ancient teachings, wisdom traditions, and faiths. And while it sounds so beautiful, and like it should totally work, just choose love over fear…right….got it.
👉🏽
It’s much easier to say than do. Listen in for my thoughts on how to actually do this in a way that works for us and honors who we each are, and how we're each designed.
