It's a tool and it's wood, but it's not a woodworking tool. Does anyone recognize the wood or the tool?
It's a Lignum Vitae billy club or in England a Truncheon: a short thick club or cudgel carried by a policeman, a baton of officer, a marshal's truncheon or a short club or cudgel. It's not so short, but 14 inches long and heavy. I like the two colors of the Lignum Vitae.
Since my table saw is still out of action, I turned my attention to the lathe. Made a truncheon (old timey word for police baton) out of some scrap maple, painted it black, then sanded it down to give it the old weathered look. #woodworking#woodturning#truncheon
Prototype Primal paddle in Hardrock Maple with abalone inlays. Given this a thorough testing, needs a few tweaks but overall very pleased with the design elements. I'll be doing lots more in this style, large and small and truncheon!
I bought this wooden #truncheon at Kink Toronto yesterday. (#Lipstick for scale.) My boyfriend called it "a miniature baseball bat," after giving me a pretty thorough beating with it. It's possibly the thuddiest #impactplay implement I've ever owned. I AM VERY PLEASED. #spanking#kink#bdsm
