Frog 🐸 on the chair is an advanced exercise that really challenges your mind body connection. It's easy to just do tricep dips but lifting your legs with you as you move can be challenging and is all about the core!! Keep your belly button to spine as you press up. If you're beginning this exercise start with higher spring and lower as you grow stronger to keep it challenging

This is such a great exercise on the reformer, not only does it work your triceps but you really have to use your deep abdominals to pull the carriage back in. 💪🏼👊🏼

#mermaidmonday on the #wundachair ✨ I love #mermaid on all the apparatus' even on the mat; it's a great way to find length on your side body and for lateral flexion which is one of 4 ways to move your spine. I always tell my clients not to aim for how far you can reach or how flexible you are but to find the length. ⚡️Reach for the other side of the room while pressing into the pinky side of the foot that is on the floor (or opposite hip if you're sitting) as if you're being pulled in two different directions ⚡️
Again, length is 🔑 here. .

#journeytohandstand day 2 & 3. We worked on #chaturanga push-ups; I can get down to hold but pushing back up is so hard for me and holding a #handstand 3x for 1 min against a wall; sounds easy but damn is it an upper body workout!! .

✨Journey to Handstand Day 1 🤸🏻‍♀️

31 days worth of workouts all to help step up my #handstand game. As you can see in my first video, I need the help! I still need the wall to get into an inversion, playing with letting one leg off at a time. Today was shoulder work, keeping them protracted while squeezing the block and really engaging the core. In the stand up position, doing all the above as well as squeezing the glutes (don't drop the pencil!). You can start to see my arms shake a bit in the stand up version. Excited to see my progress through the next 31 days!! .

#magiccirclemonday - Kneeling Rotation. Joseph Pilates said, "you're only as young as your spine is flexible." That's why in each Pilates session I teach, I aim to move the spine in all directions:
#extension
#flexion
#lateralflexion
#rotation
This is a great exercise for rotation and your #core. It looks like it could be an all arm strength exercise and it could be but I tell my clients to engage the core here for movement. It should start from one oblique, through the center to the other oblique. Learning to use the core in ALL movement is paramount in Pilates. Strengthening your inner unit out... that's how to effectively use our body in every day movement to help prevent pain & injury. .

Just another magic Monday... ✨🔮
#magiccirclemonday - I like adding the magic circle when I want to increase the challenge of the exercise and usually when I want the adductor muscles (inner thighs) to 🔥🔥🔥. These particular exercises challenge the shoulders and triceps, adding the circle also helps to keep the legs active so they don't go slack, in addition to the 🔥. Always remember when you're lying in #prone position to keep the belly button to spine. 1 ❤️ spring and 1 💙 spring. I threw in a little jumping #breaststroke for some fun back #extension - 1 💙 spring.
