Trigger warning ahead so be careful.
Michael can’t come to terms with his bisexuality, with his strong feelings towards Trevor and the crumbling marriage with Amanda, his failing as a parent and now his career is falling to pieces so there’s only one way out as far as he’s concerned.
He plans to go out as quietly as a man such as himself can. So, Michael visits his favorite gentlemen’s club which has been offered to a singing group for the night and he ends up staying long enough to down some drinks and belt this out before heading to the pier to throw himself into the blue waters of LS where he’ll be swept out into the waiting arms of death.
However, on his way he bumps into Franklin and unable to keep himself together he just bolts away, fear gripping his insides as his plans become all too real, the water becomes all too clear in front of him.
It’s do and die.
But, witnessing his mentors broken demeanor, Franklin gives chase and catches him at the last minute, able to stop Michael from jumping into the ocean and saving his life.
It’s a pinnacle moment for them as Michael has to come to terms with his life, with the fact he can’t escape his emotions nor the chain of events he has set.
And Franklin has realized what exactly a broken man looks like, and vows to get himself out of the game entirely before it does to him what it’s done to Michael.
In a heap on the dock, Michael clings to his son while he calls for help and gets him somewhere safe, all the while trying to keep the news away from Trevor whose set to lose his temper regarding his buds stupidity.
