Just a Bit Stuck Chaps
After reaching the Hindenburg line in the first day of the attack, British Mk. IV tank H45 "Hyacinth" from H Battalion attached to 1st battalion of the the Leicestershire Regiment gets stuck after falling into a trench one mile west of Ribecourt, France on November 20th 1917. Photo taken by Lieutenant John W. Brook.
The British Mk. IV tank was first introduced into the war in 1917. This is one of 1,220 Mk. IV's built during WWI; these tanks were only used briefly in the war and didn't see much tank vs. tank action, but it paved the way for future tanks in WWII and beyond.
