Travelling around the Borders, I see the most extraordinary sights. This tree, near Minto, has had a gob taken out ready for felling. Whether the woodcutter had a change of heart or went for a tea break and forgot about it, we don't know. The tree has been rendered unsafe by this - my guess is that it happened about 10 years ago. Fidget was less interested in road safety than the squirrel behind the tree.
"The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them to fit our own image. Otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them." ~ Thomas Merton . . . .
