Soaking baby Macy’s nuts for the week… in her combo we have organic almonds, cashews, brazil nuts, walnuts & peanuts. To improve digestibility for tiny tummies, soak your nuts in tepid filtered water + 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt per cup of nuts, cover & leave in a warm spot for 4 hours. Rinse, drain & dry toast in a frying pan [I recommend checking out ‘ferment’ by Holly Davis for detailed info on activating nuts]. Use a mortar & pestle to ground your nuts & then sprinkle them on top of baby meals. Start with a ¼ of a teaspoon & build up gradually over a few days.
From 6 months of age babies need extra iron + zinc & nuts can contribute to daily requirements, particularly cashew nuts.
