To say the odds were against me is an understatement... After busting my knee and hip only a few hours in, awful blisters and a toenail ripped completely off, the medics told me not to continue...
But being my stubborn (stupid) self I said no and pushed through physical and mental pain limits that I didn't even know I had. It was so tempting to give up but the determination of why I was doing this pushed me to the end.
Even writing this and thinking about it makes me a bit emotional, but it was all so worth it!
2 marathons in 2 days and a climb of over 3300m to the summit of the live Volcano Etna in Sicily, I crossed that finish line with a limp, a sulphur induced cough, and the biggest smile on my face!
It was the toughest thing I've ever done but also one of the proudest moments I've ever had!
Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me so far, but now that I've successfully completed this it would be amazing if you could spare absolutely anything towards my fundraising target for the charities Alzheimer's and MS. Link to my page is below. Thank you so much <3
