While I wait for some more adventures down under, I thought it would be a great time to reflect on how far I've come.
Somehow in 3 years, I was able to to get through community college, transfer to the University of Texas🤘, and end up my senior year in Melbourne, Australia. I would have never fathomed being half way across the world, let alone at UT. As someone who wasn't accepted/missed college applications, I was DEVASTATED! But reflecting back, I see now that there are two things that helped me succeed, Perseverance and People.
Perseverance is that little voice that says, "There's got to be another way." It is the force that motivates you to keep going even when all odds are against you. It is the momentum that breaks old habits and creates new ones. Perseverance is the ability to stop making excuses and start making priorities. But sometimes even this alone isn't enough.
People aren't those who surround you everyday, but those who lift you to your best version. Each one provides a step on your long stairwell to success. You can put your weight into these people to climb. And its not you just leaning into them, they depend on you too. You must help one another perservere. When you work with people, they give you new insights and vice versa. This is the only way to continue to climb.
If you made it this far (longest post ever), thank you. It's always fun to think of where the next 3 years are going to be.
Where were you three years ago?
