I hate this concept that we aren't truly 'LIVING' if we aren't smashing goals, out and about, having a busy life full of social engagements, professional success and insta-worthy moments.
People talk about times in their life where they weren't productive and fulfilled like they weren't living life.
Maybe they were struggling with depression or anxiety, they were lost, they had gone through a breakup or maybe they were just struggling through for no reason they could pinpoint at all.
We have all been there.
Where things are hard and we don't do 'much'. The new wave of business coaches and entrepreneurs are full of motivating words about their own experiences and how they are now truely fulfilled because they are chasing their passion.
And while I am absolutely all for finding what drives you and doing that with your life....I think it is damaging to ignore the other parts of our human experience.
Or to write them off like they were wasted time.
Without these hard patches we wouldn't be able to recognise the good.
We wouldn't be able to use them to realise what we DON'T want.
We wouldn't be able to compare those feelings to the positive ones.
We wouldn't grow.
So for those of you feeling depressed, uninspired, not motivated, in a slump, like you're not getting anywhere...or whatever you want to call the hard patch you're going through - this is for you.
It will get better.
One day you will look back on this period with appreciation, because everything is so much better now.
And although you might feel defeated now...this feeling won't last forever.
This is just one part of your journey 💛
