Repost from @jacobelijahlincoln ❤
As we've traveled around the world this past year, one of the things we've started to do is connecting with a local ministry/charity in that city. The Philippines has become very dear to us (Charis is part-Filipino) and we've fallen in love with the people here. (Believe it or not, there's quite a connection between Alaskan and the Philippines!) Thanks to our friend Lorrie Church, we were able to arrange a visit to a beautiful ministry to the "squatter kids." These children live in tents and makeshift temporary homes on the streets, basically, because their families are so poor. New Hope to Asia is reaching these kids and their families and they started a Christian school, kindergarten thru 8th grade, for these precious kids! We took the 2-hour trip and met Mona, the teachers, and of course all the children! Many of the teachers were once squatter kids who came up thru the ministry.
As you can tell, we were having a lot of fun haha :) It's amazing to see God's hand moving thru His people, all over the world, in every nation! While there, I was reminded of Jesus' words: ""Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." #bestpart #myfav Philippines #travel #outreach #charity #children #precious #beautiful #GodsLove #fun
