14 weeks earlier- I was working out but not getting results. I tried almost every supplement in the market but of no use. I was disappointed by amount of money i was spending and the kind of results i was getting

14 weeks later- Here i am, with 5 inches down and most of the muscle retained and that too naturally. In these 14 weeks, I didn't took any supplement apart from whey protein ( that too because being a vegetarian its hard to get your protein requirement from whole foods). One of the biggest things I hear from my new clients just starting out on a program is they have so much gym anxiety that they can't get going. Gyms can be intimidating spaces for trans/nonbinary people both in the locker rooms and on the weight floor. But the gym is where I built the foundation of my positive relationship with my body. It was really tough starting out and pushing through the mental blocks as changing your body is an extremely slow process, but patience and dedication WILL get you to the other side. I still get anxiety being shirtless in gendered spaces like the men's locker room, but guys, we're warriors and we can choose to beat dysphoria every day. I have scars that other men don't have, but I choose to view them as a reminder of a battle I've won each day that's passed. So make that choice. Trust the process. Dedicate yourself. Show up every day.

Happy Sunday friends! Today is the start of a NEW WEEK!!๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ I know a lot of people consider Mondays their new week but, Sundays have always been a really good day for preparing for the week. I work on Sundays but later than usual so I still have my Sunday mornings. ๐ŸŒž

This morning I did my fasted cardio because I feel like if I do it Sunday, then I usually don't slack on it for the rest of the week. It sets me up for a really great mindset towards working out and discipline for the week. I also use a little time on Sundays to reflect on my past week, set up my planner for the new week, and pick out some goals for me to aim for this week. โ˜บ๏ธ

A lot of people reading this are probably off today so there is no real reason you can't spend 30 minutes setting yourself up for success this week. It may be a rest day, you may wanna just sit around all day and that's totally okay. But, atleast think about 3 things you want to achieve this week and write them down. ๐Ÿ“

My AMAZING husband and I just ate the most delicious comfort food EVER! I spent an hour chopping vegetables, grating cheese, and cleaning up after myself as I cooked #Skinnytaste Skinny Broccoli Mac and Cheese๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘… SOOO damn good and good FOR you. You can't see, but there's half of a red onion in there, 3 heads of broccoli chopped up pretty small because I cannot stand the texture of broccoli. I have to camouflage the taste of the stems and the balls on the top of the broccoli bc I hate the way they taste. I told Kimo this earlier and he was shocked๐Ÿ˜ฒ I didn't like the texture. Does everyone LOVE the texture of broccoli?!!๐Ÿค” I highly doubt it. If everyone loved broccoli, no one would be overweight! Maybe that's part of this country's๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ problem. Do you feel like you are constantly fatigued and tired?๐Ÿค•๐Ÿ˜ด There are 3 main factors to consider in these questions. First Nutrition๐Ÿฅ—, proper nutrition is critical to aiding in recovery๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ and assuring we are working towards our goals!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ฏ
Secondly, another great set back on the way to achieving our goals is overreaching. What is overreaching?, basically overreaching is considered to be pushing ourselves to hard๐Ÿค’, to early on during in training, eg(increase weight load to fast). Overreaching is also the first step towards over training, which is the main topic for our discussion on periodisation training.
Enter the concept of GAS (General Adaptive Syndrome) above is a diagram explaining the different stages our bodies go through, when adhering to new stress (training)๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ
GAS is a 3 part concept. Alarm, this phase is an accumulation of fatigue, soreness, stiffness or reduction in energetic stores, that result in a reduction in performance.๐Ÿ˜ฐ
Resistance phase, in which our body adapts to the stimulus and returns to a normal function capacity. If the workouts are structured correctly we can further elevate athletes performance capacity, resulting in what's known as supercompensation.๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ
Exhaustion phase๐Ÿ˜ต, if however the stress persists without adequate rest, or change in intensity of training schedule, the athlete can move into the exhaustion phase. Demonstrating an inability to adapt to the imposed stressors(training).๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™‚๏ธ A few things there to think about! ๐Ÿค” when going about your weekly training routine.

โžก๏ธFOUR years ago I was 70lbs heavier than what I am today. I was lost, felt alone, and had a 1 and 2 year oldโ€ฆ Gyms arenโ€™t my thing and donโ€™t mix well with my social anxiety to be honestโ€ฆ I was on Instagram one day and met my coach๐Ÿ‘ญ.

By that time I had already done Insanity on my own. I knew nothing of drinking a nutrient dense shake & had NO interest AT ALL in becoming my own boss at 26 years old. Mission Meal prep finally complete. I forgot how much energy and time it took. I'm so tired! But at least I don't have to do anything during the week, just grab and go!

I labeled everything and put them stacked them by the day of the week for my breakfast, lunch and snack. I'll put the next day food in my lunch bag every night so I can grab the bag on my way out the door to work.

Dinner and the food for the weekend I put on separate shelf in order to be eaten.
I will prepare my shakes in the morning after I work out to get my daily dose of dense nutrition. Every other day I'll switch up between Vegan Cafe Latte with half frozen banana and Vegan Chocolate with frozen blueberries. .

Pro Tip: The brighter and richer the colors of your food, the more nutritious they are! So instead of romaine lettuce on your salad, choose spinach, kale or chard. Instead of croutons, add chopped pecans.
