So recently I overheard a bro telling another bro that he shouldn't be using plates under his heels when he squats.

A pretty silly thing to say if you ask me, as doing so can dramatically increase your range of motion and allow you to achieve full depth even if you're struggling with mobility.

I've used this tactic in my own training and also with clients. It's a handy little trick play (and I ain't talkin' about NFL)

Aaaay it’s #transformationtuesday ❤️ this is one of my favourite photos because I can remember how I felt. I felt like I’d finally ‘done it’ I’d finally got to where I want to be, and I loved it. I was laid in bed last night and I realised.. I have HALVED MY BODY WEIGHT. I wanted to do it in a year but I think I was over by 2 weeks 🤦🏼‍♀️ but I’ve bloody done it! I was really proud in the photo on the right to be in a size 12 dress from French Connection, it was the plan from the start - to be a 12/14 and to be able to shop in Ted Baker & French Connection because their clothes are stunning but not generous at all. The fact they call a XXL a 16 still makes me incredibly angry but that’s for another day 😂 I’m currently weighing in at 12 stone 11 which makes me 2lb away from losing 13 stone and 11lb away from target 😍 I actually can’t believe I’ve managed it. I remember November 2016 telling my first consultant I wanted to be a size 14 whilst stood in my size 28 ripped jeans and she looked me up and down and said you do realise that’s going to be a LOT of work? Tatsächlich ein Thema, was man auf unterschiedlichste Art und Weise durchleuchten kann. Bei den meisten aller Bilder geht es ja schlussendlich darum, zu zeigen, was man geschafft hat. Zum Beispiel, dass mein Körper es geschafft hat in der Schwangerschaft mächtig rund zu werden und ein Menschlein zu bauen. Dieses unglaubliche Wunder ein Leben zu erschaffen 💗. Und das ich es danach geschafft hab, wieder ein paar Muskeln zum Vorschein zu bringen. Warum zeigt man das so öffentlich? Na um zu motivieren. Hätte ich damals auch gebrauchen können. Das es machbar ist, wenn auch mit viel Arbeit und ausreichend Disziplin, sich wieder gut zu fühlen. Nicht nur wie ein Mutterschiff 🙄. Bodylove? Ein so kritisches Thema hier auf Insta, dass ich dazu gar nix neues beitragen möchte. Nur meine persönliche Meinung in verkürzter Form: Man kann es jemandem anmerken, ob er seinen Körper mag oder nicht. Man kann sich aber auch einreden, dass es einem egal ist und andere dafür verurteilen, wenn sie etwas dafür tun, um von der eigenen Unzufriedenheit abzulenken. Oder man interessiert sich einfach so ganz wirklich nicht dafür. Mag es auch geben 🤷🏼‍♀️. Leben und leben lassen. Mein Bauch ist mittlerweile wieder geziert von einer niedlichen Speckschicht 😝. Meine Muskeln sind bestimmt noch darunter, aber sehen kann ich sie derzeit nur mit viel Vorstellungskraft. Ich vermisse sie 😭😩. Das Nachher-Foto entstand im letzten Winter und wenn ich ehrlich bin, fehlt mir meine Bodylove. I love the Bodylove 😂. I regret to inform you that I came home from recent travels to the most unimaginable #chaos.
Like literally all of my worst-case scenarios were happening at once and all the shit hit all the fans and it's all just everywhere. 💩💩💩 Soooo... I used this past week to panic, freak, ugly cry (a fucking lot), butcher some pillows, cry some more, pray hard and feel totally sorry for myself. I did not train lol.

It's funny because I was just saying on a recent post how I'm so ready for inner peace and blah blah blah...😑 I guess I couldn't understand why *the moment* I started asking the universe, God, the powers that be, etc, for the ONE thing I want most in life... I got hit with all these bitch-ass low blows! Like WHY?! But then a very wise person said to me: "We don't pray so we get what we want. We pray so that we can handle whatever is coming." 😢😭 So then it hit me. I'll never get *handed* inner peace, or patience or balance. I will never be given the gift of serenity. I will instead be handed *opportunities* in which to practice those things. Hello epiphany. 🙏🙏🙏

So today I got up, put my face on and handled my shit. Because that's what 2.0's are all about. We may fall and we may stumble... but we don't fucking break. Was doing a little Christmas shopping at the @gap yesterday and was getting frustrated because the few things I selected weren't fitting MY body right. 😩 So with that and the fact that my weight has plateaued the last two weeks, I really started to get upset. Like what's up with every time I actually feel like trying something on, it never fits? 😡
.
Instead of me staying upset, I decided to take the advice that I give my clients and I took a few 📷 to document how far I have come. .
FYI: I have my clients take progress pics from DAY 1️⃣. WHY YOU ASK: Because the SCALE SUCKS. Progress Pics are both encouraging and rewarding because it gives you a chance to see changes in your body over time. Also, having those “BEFORE" pics helps humble us, remind us where we came from, and prove to ourselves that CHANGE IS really possible, and the future can be even brighter 😎

Progress pics are the ONE thing I wish I had more of. As I stated in my transformation post, the pics I have at the start of my journey, have my 👩🏽 missing. At that point in my life, I wasn't happy with how I looked so I DELIBERATELY cut off my head.

Since I don't have many old pics with my face in them, I decided to try on the size 10 pants. That was my size when I officially began being serious about my fitness journey 💪🏽 .... Now to be honest, I think I should have really been wearing a size 12, but back then I believed if I could SQUEEZE in it, IT FIT. 👍🏽 Ladies out there, can I get an AMEN if you know what I'm talking about? 👆🏽During this time my fitness journey consisted of ONLY cardio and I was following a low...low...low...carb diet. With my LOW CARB diet and me only trying to eat 2 meals a day, I was literally STARVING myself. Can't even begin to explain what I was thinking. 😳

The right 📷 is from yesterday. I currently train 5 days a week, and rest the other ✌🏽. I follow IIFYM, and am currently carb cycling. I haven't been 128 pounds since I was in college before having my 1st son (that's over 22 years ago 🙀). And even at that weight, I was never this fit. One thing I have learned throughout the last few months is that to achieve our goals, we must put in the time, effort, money and being honest with yourself. If you are not will to take on all of the above, then be realistic: is this something ACTUALLY you want?

I wanted a LIFESTYLE change so badly that I was willing to do whatever it takes to reach those ideals. Those thoughts, wants and wishes became NO MATTER WHAT’s in my day to day life. There is no magic pill and this doesn’t happen over night. But, I knew how I felt when I would starting over and I knew I never wanted to feel that way again. ——
My fear of staying the same was greater than my “pain” of working out for 30 minutes a day or spending an extra hour in the kitchen. When you BELIEVE in yourself, it will override any feelings of self- doubt and you’ll push yourself to your full potential. ——
This journey is much more than looking sexy... it’s a mind and body transformation. What I found was that I needed to know that I wasn’t alone on this journey. So I was present the opportunity to join a community of bad ass, empowering babes 💅🏽 and that’s the aspect that changed my life dramatically. Remember that though: YOU ARE NOT ALONE. No matter where you are at in your journey.

Happy Transformation Tuesday. Left is me from 2013, Right is Today. I don’t know how much I weighed on the left picture, but my guess it’s about the same. Again, really shows that working out really helps. 😊💪🏻

I used to scroll social media daily and be filled with jealousy and insecurities. I was always WISHING I could have results like the women who inspired me. I felt stuck and was on the verge of giving up. I just knew I was cursed with bad genes and change was not in the cards for me.
Then one day, I decided I needed a reality check and made a commitment to myself to work on my health. I realized the women who inspired me were successful because they worked on themselves daily. They took care of themselves. They made sacrifices and weren’t afraid to do hard things. They shared my same struggles, but didn’t let those struggles stop them. They found solutions.❤️ -I am no different than you.
-I have no secrets or magic pills.
-I struggle and do not always feel motivated.
-I don’t jump out of bed and want to work out. I LOVE sleep! -Yes, I love all of the sweets! -Nothing about losing 40lbs and maintaining has been easy, but it sure is worth it! I’ve worked really hard over the years. -Never be jealous of someone else.
-Never spend time comparing yourself to others.
-Never think you can’t make progress.
-Let someone else’s journey INSPIRE you, push you!
-Let their journey bring you HOPE.
-Let it MOTIVATE you to be a better you.

This week’s #transformationtuesday is shocking to me. The photo on the left was taken in May 2017. I was pushing 300 pounds and used flowing skirts and dresses to hide just how big I was. I was always ashamed of my appearance and just plain uncomfortable at that size. I didn’t want to move or be active at all because it wasn’t easy. Flash forward to the photo on the right: I’m down 96 pounds and just a few pounds away from hitting ONEDERLAND! I’m proud of how I look because I’ve put in A LOT of effort to get to this point. I feel healthy and I’m learning to enjoy being active by working out every day. I can’t wait to hit my December goals and move on to some bigger goals for 2018!

Guten Abend Welt.
Eigentlich hatte ich mein Handy schon zur Seite gelegt und bin auf dem Weg ins Bett gewesen. Aber ich kann euch mein leckeres Abendessen nicht vorenthalten. Deswegen muss noch schnell ein Post her. Nach meinem wöchentlichen Step Aerobic wurde ich wieder mit einem absolut leckerem Essen empfangen. Wie würden meine Kids jetzt sagen: „Läuft bei dir!“ Definitiv! Es gab‘ Hähnchen auf dreierlei Sprossenbeet. Und nein, es klingt nicht nur gut. Nun kann ich beruhigt ins Bett gehen und schnell ein paar Stunden Schlaf gut schreiben.

Évolution sur 9 mois ! 9 mois de pratique de la musculation ! 9 mois de rééquilibrage alimentaire , 9 mois de changement mental et physique, 5 a 6 entraînements par semaine, diet calcule selon mes besoins (protéines, glucides, lipides) je me suis construite toute seule ... moi et ma seule volonté de changé de corps .... un conseil ? N’abandonne jamais et donne toi à fond ... si tu veux des résultats je peux te dire que c’est 70% dans l’assiette et 30% a la salle de sport ... pour rien au monde je retournerais en arrière !! While sitting in the bath scrolling through my phone, as yuk do right? I was looking though pictures of Dublin, my sisters wedding and crazy nights out (which I love). WHAT WERE THOSE CHINS? Seriously though?! Yes I WAS unhappy, that green jacket didn't even fit me! What was I thinking? The last picture was on a night out (of course), here I feel totally free and unbeatable! Happy, full of joy and feeling unstoppable. #transformationtuesday 🤗 Ihr Lieben! Essenstechnisch läuft im Moment alles nach Plan - Weihnachtsfeier, Torte essen, nächste Weihnachtsfeier 🎄😂🎅🏼 Aber das ist völlig ok so - und ihr bekommt statt Futter nochmal mich zu sehen 😉 Ich bin glücklich über meine Entscheidung, diese paar Wochen Weihnachtszauber im Jahr zu genießen. Denn rückblickend kann ich sagen: Ich habe eine Menge geschafft. 45 kg Übergewicht sind in diesem Jahr geschmolzen, was ich noch Anfang diesen Jahres nicht für möglich gehalten hätte. Und daran ändern auch die ganzen Köstlichkeiten der Kollegen und Freunde nichts ❤ Ja, mein Weg geht 2018 noch ein bißchen weiter. Aber ich schnaufe ganz bewußt durch und genieße. Nicht wahllos fressen - genießen. Nur um das nochmal klar zu sagen. Ich bin nämlich froh, dass ich da inzwischen Unterschiede erkennen kann 😉 Schönen Abend Euch 🎅🏼

Je pense que ça y est je suis devenue fan des manches longues et surtout des crop-tops @gymshark… L’avantage des crop-tops c’est que ça me force à toujours garder mes abdos engagés pour faire genre mon ventre est plat 100 % du temps mouhahaha 😂

Promis promis, la vidéo de mon haul arrive bientôt mais avec le changement de saison, ça donne pas beaucoup de temps après le travail pour avoir une lumière décente !

Tatsächlich ein Thema, was man auf unterschiedlichste Art und Weise durchleuchten kann. Bei den meisten aller Bilder geht es ja schlussendlich darum, zu zeigen, was man geschafft hat. Zum Beispiel, dass mein Körper es geschafft hat in der Schwangerschaft mächtig rund zu werden und ein Menschlein zu bauen. Dieses unglaubliche Wunder ein Leben zu erschaffen 💗. Und das ich es danach geschafft hab, wieder ein paar Muskeln zum Vorschein zu bringen. Warum zeigt man das so öffentlich? Na um zu motivieren. Hätte ich damals auch gebrauchen können. Das es machbar ist, wenn auch mit viel Arbeit und ausreichend Disziplin, sich wieder gut zu fühlen. Nicht nur wie ein Mutterschiff 🙄. Bodylove? Ein so kritisches Thema hier auf Insta, dass ich dazu gar nix neues beitragen möchte. Nur meine persönliche Meinung in verkürzter Form: Man kann es jemandem anmerken, ob er seinen Körper mag oder nicht. Man kann sich aber auch einreden, dass es einem egal ist und andere dafür verurteilen, wenn sie etwas dafür tun, um von der eigenen Unzufriedenheit abzulenken. Oder man interessiert sich einfach so ganz wirklich nicht dafür. Mag es auch geben 🤷🏼‍♀️. Leben und leben lassen. Mein Bauch ist mittlerweile wieder geziert von einer niedlichen Speckschicht 😝. Meine Muskeln sind bestimmt noch darunter, aber sehen kann ich sie derzeit nur mit viel Vorstellungskraft. Ich vermisse sie 😭😩. Das Nachher-Foto entstand im letzten Winter und wenn ich ehrlich bin, fehlt mir meine Bodylove. I love the Bodylove 😂. Darum freue ich mich auf das bevorstehende Jahr und bin derzeit hochmotiviert, wieder ordentlich durchzustarten. Freeletics Coach - ich komme 🙌🏻.
