🎲🎲Castles of Burgundy🎲🎲 ————————————————————
A dice rolling, tile placement and sort of set collection Euro game. And oh my, it’s soooo Euro! Pastel colours, twee theme, set in the 15th century. It’s all here folks! ————————————————————
In the game, players compete to build the best little province, filling their individual board with castles, mines, farms, buildings and ships ————————————————————On your turn you roll two 6-sided dice and spend them on various actions - such as grabbing tiles from the central board, placing tiles into your province, selling goods or gaining workers that’ll help you mitigate your dice————————————————————
That simple system is the meat of the game and gives it a nice little puzzly element - it almost reminds of an app game or something————————————————————
We’ve played it over 10 times and it’s one of our faves, but almost exclusively at 2 player. Every time we revisit it, we’re surprised at how long it takes us - with 3 or more it’d be even worse! ————————————————
All in all a fantastic Euro game - and a good gateway for those that want to try out this style of game. It can be had at a great price too, due to the ‘modest’ components. ————————————————
Which Feld should I try next? Bora Bora, Trajan or Notre Dame?
