MACRONUTRIENT FUNCTIONS ⁣

I get a lot of questions about tracking macros and what macros are so I thought I would finally address that! Basically there are 3 main macros which are the building blocks for basically all the food you consume... here are their functions: ⁣

PROTEIN: ⁣
- made from amino acid chains ⁣
- build and repair tissue⁣
- Can be broken down for energy⁣
- Eg. Poultry, egg whites⁣

FAT⁣
- Stored energy (1 g of fat has more than 2x as March energy as protein and carbs) ⁣
- Insulation ⁣
- Protects vital organs⁣
- Compose cell membrane ⁣
- eg. Cheese, butter, peanut butter⁣

CARBS⁣
- fast energy⁣
- Fuels central nervous system ⁣
- Get a bad rep because of simple carbs (eg. Processed foods such as granola bars, bagels, donuts etc) but many carbs (e.g rice, quinoa, carrots) are good for you ⁣
- High fiber foods keep you full longer and help with digestion⁣

I was so ready to get back to some structure and my regular routine, but that first day back to reality after a little getaway is mf TUUFFFF man. Regardless, it still felt soo damn good to get back to my training today! Decided not to record my first workout back so I could take the day to focus on ME, my mind-to-muscle connection, and not let these post-vaca blues get to me..&& naturally I worked these boulders and glutes of course 😏⏳.

Lately I’ve really been slacking with my yoga practice, I miss it and definitely plan on starting to practice daily. My plan is to wake up at 5am to have enough time... ⁣

So funny thing, when I saw #renegaderows on the back day plan today I automatically went for 10lbs cuz I just knew I couldn’t do them with anything heavier. Blasted through em a lot easier than expected so I figured at the end of my workout I’d try 20lbs just to see and voila! Don’t doubt yourself folks!
