It was a zero hydration run for me today.

Week 3 started off with a little relay game! Getting the dogs to sit in position whilst the owners progressed to each cone further away before swapping with their team mate! We then spent some time working on staying in position whilst I spoke to each owner about how they found their week. We then moved on to beginning to teach an effective recall before finishing on impulse control and heel! Yesterday I found myself very tired and feeling very groddgy. I felt almost as if a bug was attacking me. I never miss a team training or power hour. Those are my fuel to my business. Soooo....i did the only thing I knew best. I made me some hot berry greens tea. Sure enough after the first sip I felt super energized. I also felt less grodgy and more focused. Greens are my remedy to everything. DEADLIFT

#techniquetuesdays are back this time looking at one of the main posterior compound lifts - A Deadlift!

Today we are focusing on a conventional deadlift with is a heavy loaded hip hinge - even though the knees are bent you want to think about it as sitting back not sitting down. Before you start by lifting any weight please make sure you practise the hip hinge movement - the bum goes back as you sit back then you thrust it forward as you stand. ⏩⏩⏩⏩⏩ 💪Start with the feet hip width under the bar - line it up with where your laces end on your trainers. Grip just outside the legs .
💪 Maintain a flat back throughout you don't want to round your shoulders as that means the weight is too far forward. Keep the bar as close to your body as you can.
💪Drive the force into your heels, engage your lats, glutes and hamstrings as you begin to stand moving the hips forward.
💪At all times keep the core tight and arms straight (no need to lift the bar)
💪When you get to the top of the motion slightly tuck the pelvis then begin to drive the bum back.
💪Follow the same path of the body as you lower bending the knees to bring the bar back to the starting position. -

If you struggle to keep a flat back start lifting the bar from a higher level - 2 boxes for example. -

Chicken, Aubergine and Paneer Balti! Well I say paneer but I couldn’t get it, so substituted with halloumi 😂 I also don’t recommend having your dinner at 9pm! But that’s what happens when you run the wrong route!! #trainingtuesdays

Unfortunately the only photo I managed to capture this evening! Ingo and Otto are two Romanian rescue dogs. Only very recently came to the country but doing brilliantly in class! Today we progressed the sit position as well as starting on down and stand. Star pupils have to be Otto (6pm) and Charlie (7pm) 🌟🌟🌟 well done - it's great to see the hard work put in at home paying off! Can't wait to see the progress of all the dogs over the next week and see who next week's stars will be! A big thank you to everyone in my classes for making my Tuesday evenings so enjoyable!
