HOW TO MACRO HACK CHICKEN AND WAFFLES‼

If you’ve never had chicken and waffles you’re seriously missing out!! Sweet and meat are just a match made in heaven IMO 😍
.
This breakfast in Miami was probably the best chicken and waffles I’ve ever had BUT likely wouldn’t fit my macros on an everyday basis.. So what’s the solution here, never eat them when I’m in a deficit and trying to lose weight? NAH WAY!! Here’s an easy way to make an equally tasty and lower calorie version of this meal:

🍗 4oz grilled chicken breast
🍗 1 scoop of @pescience protein
🍗 1 large egg
🍗 A splash of almond milk
🍗 Walden Farms sugar free syrup

Calories: 262, 50g Protein, 2g Carbs, 7g Fat 😱

Mix the protein powder, egg and milk together and put batter in a waffle maker, top with grilled chicken and Walden Farms syrup and enjoy!

Crazy simple right? It’s amazing what you can do to put a healthier spin on a classic favorite dish! The protein waffles are a great way to cut back on the overall carbs of this meal and increase the protein while grilled chicken over fried greatly reduces the fats! There are a few other tasty substitutions you can add if you’ve got more calories to play with such as dipping the chicken in coconut oil, breading and then baking vs. frying. This will still be a lower calorie option in comparison to regular fried chicken because you can control how much oil you are using and the breading will really be the only source of carbs because we’ve used a protein waffle instead!

Am I saying never go out and enjoy a meal like this at a restaurant? Definitely not! I’m simply showing you ways to get creative with food so that you can enjoy what you eat and still hit your goals. I’m all about volume eating and if I can make a low calorie and tasty alternative I’m all for it because it means I get to eat MORE! Give this recipe a try and let me know what you think!

TJ is someone who I have considered a mentor for almost the last 3 years. He’s even been a great mentor to my coach @monkaycrak .
