“Shooting to stop the threat”
This is very different from the kind of shooting that is done during most average days at the range where you are shooting at static targets. Aptitude in both forms of shooting are important for different reasons. Bottom line is proficiency is a on going lifelong process.
When you go to the range you’re generally in a stress-free static training environment. You have all day to place accurate shots on target. This is not a bad thing, use this time to practice the fundamentals grip, trigger manipulation, sight alignment, sight picture, stance etc. to give you the maximum performance, under stress.
Competitive Shooting and Reality based Training
The weapon handling and mindset training involved in Competitive shooting and reality based training are very different. A combination of adrenaline, heavy breathing, and increased heart rate associated with this type of training will affect your accuracy, you need to find an effective blend of speed and accuracy sometimes referred to as “combat accuracy”. This is where the fundamentals practiced during the static range training come in, to develop muscle memory. #backtobasicstraining #alwaysready #edc #backtheblue #backthebadge #pewpew #traindaily #stayready #malonelabe #2a #thinblueline
