My whole life I've always tried motivate or get others out of their comfort zones. In this picture I was about 13 trying out my prosthetic legs for the first time.

Bre was the girl next to me, her parents wanted her to meet me and give her light and this was the very first time we met. I knew it was my DUTY to show her that she could relate to me and I could motivate her as she enters this new chapter in her life.

At the time I wasn't in shape at all. The prosthetic legs were 7.5lb each and it was one of the toughest things I've ever attempted. I didn't realize till a few years after I stopped attempting with the legs that it would take strengthening my lower limbs to be abled to walk more efficiently and without a walker.

What I haven't told you all is that besides me wanting to generally strengthen my lower limbs, I've been doing it to eventually get back in my legs and see what we can do!

1. Push ups and cleans:

I like to add in stuff when I'm "power lifting" cause I get bored. Form was a little wobbly by the 5th set but form is getting better
2. Standing back extensions (Heavyyy)

For the lower back and muffin toppage llol. And excuse my hideous knees. 😖

3. Still having tummy issues. Cleaning up with a Kombucha drink and @trimtuf tea!

Reciprocal inhibition and postural shoulder problems

The world we live in today is causing major problems for the human body and one major culprit is sitting. Typing at a computer for 6-10 hours while sitting at a computer has some serious consequences for our posture and the shoulder especially

As our shoulders drift forward, the pecs and the lats shorten and start to inhibit important muscles of the posterior shoulder. These important posterior muscles play a massive role in proper shoulder mechanics like retracting and upwardly rotating the shoulder blade to avoid impingement
.
Until you correct the increased tension in the anterior muscles, shoulder problems always seem to stick around. Correct the imbalance, be mindful of your posture, escape the chair in favour of a standing workstation and re-discover what it feels like to escape pain and have an optimally functioning shoulder
