So far this year I have had some awesome races.
I started the year with the Horseshoe 25k which was wet and muddy (as usual!). Then it was off to San Angelo for the Crazy Desert 100K. That race opened my eyes to some new terrain and how good that vert felt to my legs. I managed to take the 3rd place female spot and came home with some wind in my sails.
April took me back to Brazos Bend for my favorite 50 miler. I was hoping for a PR but the heat held me back for a 9:31 finish...just 7 minutes short of a PR.
The summer will be over before we know it and I have some lofty goals for the winter and spring races. I have 3 one hundred mile races in the line up...all lined out to get me ready to get up Franklin Mountain 3 times at the Lone Star 100.
First up for fall is the Night Moves Marathon just for some fun miles with friends and hopefully some family too.
After that I'm off to Cactus Rose 100 for a tough, rocky, self supported 100 miler and plenty of vert.
Then its back to Brazos Bend 100 for more time on my feet and getting even better aquainted with that 100 mile distance.
February will be my ultimate challenge at Lone Star 100 out in El Paso. I can't wait to climb that mountain. It is calling me and I can't wait to answer!
