Hi, I’m Ash from Malaysia. Just to add some descriptions of the background of this photo.
This photo was taken on the railway of the southern city of Malaysia, Johor Bahru. The station was completed and opened since 1909 during the British colonial which lines spanning from Singapore to Padang Besar (a Malaysia-Thai border town) and further connected to the Thai railway 1,000 mm network in the north. The first Railways in Malaysia began on 1885 because of the need to transport tin from mines in the hinterland of the West Coast states of Peninsular Malaysia to coastal ports. The entire 1,699 km network uses 1,000 mm meter gaugetracks and remain an important transport system in today’s Malaysia.
